Broek Pork Acres is operated by Allan and Joanne Vanden Broek.
We were married in 1990 and since have been blessed with 9 children and 4 grandchildren. Having the children helping along is an important link in the success of our direct marketing family farm.
Coming from a farming background in the Lethbridge area, we started a small grain farm in 1994. In 2000 we added a small hog herd. In the spring of 2005, we switched from only hog barns to include a free range Pasture Pork operation. We started direct marketing our products to our customers and found that we could ensure delivery of a fresher product as well as catering to their needs. In the beginning of 2007 we set up a provincially inspected butcher shop on our farm. We expanded our shop in 2009 and in now we are in the process of building a new and larger shop with a store front. Opening winter of 2017!
We are passionate about how we farm and enjoy raising our ‘value added pork’ in Southern Alberta. We grow grain and hay for feed, raise our own hogs, process the meat and market our own products. From pasture to the plate, with a hands on approach, our goal is to provide our customers with quality and nutritious products.
